This is a close one. I like both actresses and they both do good work. However, only a few performances from Diane Lane have stood out to me, whereas I have been keeping up with Kate Beckinsale's career since Pearl Harbor came out. I think that the actresses are fairly even in talent and potential, but Kate has had a few more movies out as of late and was great in Serendipity. It doesn't hurt that she is one of the most beautiful women in the world either.
